About Autotab

Autotab is a car diagnostic tool and logbook for iPhone, iPad, Mac and CarPlay, with a Windows app on the Microsoft Store. Plug a Bluetooth LE OBD-II adapter into the car and Autotab AI reads every sensor and stored fault code, then says in plain words what is wrong, whether the car is safe to drive and the likeliest fixes, cheapest first.

Around the diagnosis sits the logbook: a workshop invoice is read from a photo or PDF line by line, a maintenance plan for the make and model forecasts the coming months, the full spec sheet comes from the VIN as a PDF, and the app works out what the car really costs per mile and per month. On CarPlay, drivers log fill-ups at the pump, see live engine gauges and ask the AI about a reading.

Owners can chat with their car: ask whether it is ready for a long drive, what is due next or what it will cost, and the answer comes from the car's own records, in a mechanic's voice or the car's own. The same questions work by voice with Siri, on the iPhone and in CarPlay. With an adapter, every drive gets a score out of 100 and a live coach that suggests one change at a time, on the phone and the CarPlay screen.

New in Autotab 3.1, every drive with the adapter is kept as a trip: a timeline of the whole drive with every engine reading charted beneath it, a read by Autotab AI and a PDF to share, with the latest one on the Home screen. The coach moves onto the Lock Screen and into the Dynamic Island. On the cost side, every slice of Total cost opens the records behind it, double entries are flagged before they are saved, and Insights is arranged in four tabs. The Mac app is reworked for the desk, with keyboard shortcuts, right-click menus and Arabic laid out right to left.

There is no advertising; usage statistics are anonymous and can be turned off. Records stay on the device and in the owner's private iCloud.
